25 Random Things about Ali!!

"If you are tagged...you have probably already done this! If not...you are supposed to stop everything you are doing and become narcissistic for about 30 minutes and write 25 random things about yourself. Ready, GO!"

1. The first thing you will notice about me is my big hair. It's always been there, and resulted in many bullying situations, mainly from my family. When cut short at 16, life changed. Still, making friends with my hair is a constant process.

2. I am a morning person. Nights are made for quiet (as my friend Leasa says... by 9pm, Ali turns into a pumpkin!).

3. As a little child, I used to run away on my own. Neighbours would find me and bring me back home (see? I was meant to fly away as a bird!).

4. I love food in all its instances: choosing, preparing, cooking, serving and eating. yey!

5. I never wanted to study Communications. I did so that my parents would let me to go to Uni. I was not allowed to take a BA in English and become a teacher.

6. The day I saw Big Ben for the first time, I had my biggest dream come true. The story is: I didn't notice it was behind me for a while while heading to Trafalgar Square. When I looked back and saw it, I was so shocked that gave a loud cry, followed by tears. Everytime I return to London, I go to those same traffic lights accross from TS, and slowly turn back, only to taste that little happy shiver over and over again.

7. Trafalgar square is my very favorite spot in the entire world (because of the above).

8. I am addicted to the TV series Bones, House and Lost. I need my 'fix' every night before going to bed.

9. I ran a half marathon (and I finished it, if you wonder. And I finished before the blind old guy!).

10. First daughter, niece, granddaughter, from both family sides. I was seriously spoiled as a baby.

11. I love water: swimming pools, beaches, rivers, lakes.

12. I slipped on the snow/ice and and fell on my ass 5 years ago. My bones in the lower back were smashed together, and keep pressing the nerves. My body hurts.

13. The best concert I been to was The Corrs, on the Borrowed Heaven tour. It was amazing, even though seating on the last row and without glasses. I figured the little red spot jumping was Andrea singing. I went again to see them in Sheffield.

14. Winter is my favorite season. The coldest I ever experienced was -34 C in Tampere, Finland, on Feb 9th 2007.

15. I believe in spirits, God and the power of the universe. However, I think all miracles start from the power of men.

16. My class at FACOS/UFSM was amazing. I miss them badly, and it is not one or two, is the entire class. Not the degree I wanted to take, as I mentioned above, but I gained a loving family as a compensation.

17. I don't like seafood. Bleks. It stinks.

18. I am the first and only person in my family to have visited Europe. (I can announce publicly this has to change: I am not coming back to Brazil for a visit unless someone goes to Europe to visit me. Period.)

19. The only thing I collect are Little Prince books. I buy one in each country I visit in their language. The collection now has: Portuguese (BR), Portuguese (PT), English, Spanish, Catalan, Galician, French, German, Italian, Greek, Irish, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish.

20. I am very fond of my nana Jaci, and admire her, for her strength and many ideals ahead of her time... even though one in every ten words she says is a swearing!

21. My family is very lively: loud, nervous, bossy, always around food. On my father side all of them laugh out loud, live to eat, have curly hair, wear glasses, and are chubby. Bright future ahead of me, no?

22. I am very sensitive to gender issues. I hate any type of sexism and mistreat to women - unless she has done something to deserve any bad attitude. I think it is a shame that Brazil has a police department only for agression to women, it makes me sad these agressions exist (Sadly, in my State - RS - most men treat wives like their servants... or worse, like their mother!!! And then everybody is shocked when I say I don't wanna get married...).

23. I love football and support Internacional from Porto Alegre. Oleeee Inteeeeerrrr!!!!

24. It took more than 30 min to write this note!
